Our association’s Chairman of the Board, Vice-Chairman and Secretary-General paid courtesy visits to ASELSAN and TUSAŞ (Turkish Aerospace Industries), two leading organisations in our defence, aviation and space industries.
We discussed our activities aimed at the sector’s development—particularly the TURKCOMPOSITE Fair organised by our association—and potential collaboration opportunities with ASELSAN Board Chairman Prof. Dr Ercümend Arvas, Deputy General Manager Murat Aslan, and TUSAŞ Head of Procurement and Industrialisation Serdar Özpolat, along with Business Development Manager Türker Dölek.

Through strong partnerships, we are further strengthening the strategic role of the composites sector in our defence, aerospace and space industries!

Throughout the day, Sema Çarkçı Umay, Şenay Tosun and İhsan Gafuroğlu from Etap Marine, Dr Göksenin Çömlekçi and his team from Şişecam, Mısra Mataracı and Serhat Ateş from SDF Endüstri, and Ceren Serap Akın and İlayda Özbilek from Mitaş Kompozit visited our stand and met with us.

We also held a productive meeting with ACMA – USA President Cindy Squires, Carman Long, and Peter Hedger to evaluate cooperation opportunities for our sector.

During the fair, we welcomed Yiğit Vatansever from Sönmez Textiles, Özgür Şahin from Özer Toprak Gıda, Adnan Bayramoğlu from Polres Polyester, the Fiberr Fiber team, Osman Necipoğlu from Kord Endüstriyel İplik, Saffet Baysal and his team from Ases Havacılık, and Muhammed Atacan from Akarmak at their stands to discuss developments in our sector.

As part of JEC World 2026, our member CET Composites and Epoxy Technologies’ Founder and CEO, Ömer Güven, delivered a presentation titled “Recast. Built to Last: Vanillin-Based Epoxy Vitrimers for Sustainable High-Performance Composites.”

The presentation, held on the second day of the exhibition, addressed epoxy vitrimer systems that are shaping the future of the composites industry and innovative approaches for sustainable high-performance composites. Participants were also provided with insights into technologies that aim to increase efficiency in composite manufacturing processes while supporting sustainability.

The session further highlighted the contributions of CET Composites and Epoxy Technologies’ solutions to high-performance composite applications and their potential role in supporting the sustainable transformation of the industry.

Our member Ege Kimya San. ve Tic. A.Ş. (Ege Kimya)’s German subsidiary EGE KİMYA Germany GmbH completed the acquisition of the grinding bead business unit of CERDUR Ceramic GmbH on 24 February 2026.

This strategic step strengthens Ege Kimya’s solutions in the field of paint dryers and high-performance grinding beads, making a significant contribution to the company’s value chain.

Under the coordination of Mr Onur Demirbaş, Sales Manager at EGE KİMYA Germany, the domestic sales team will share information about the new product group with customers shortly.

Mr Erez Navaro, General Manager of Ege Kimya, commented on the acquisition process as follows:

“This acquisition represents a very important milestone for our company in Germany. CERDUR is a valuable brand that has gained a reputation over the years, particularly in the field of high-performance grinding balls for the paint and coating industry. By adding this expertise to our portfolio, we are expanding the range of products we offer you. This strategic move reinforces our commitment to sustainable growth.”

Together with our Board of Directors members, we continued to meet with industry representatives at the fair. Throughout the day, Beril Darcan and Emre Yetkinyılmaz from Boytek, Turgay Aytekin from Superlit, İbrahim Kosse and Ceren Gümüş from Kosse Kompozit, İsmail Hakkı Hacialioğlu from İlkalem, Mehmet Çakın and Türkan Çakın from Pul-Tech FRP Kompozit, and Büşra Erdem and Eralp Erdem from Turkuaz Polyester visited our stand.

We also met with Erika Bernardino and Silvio de Andrade from ALMACO Brazil at our stand. We also held a meeting with JEC President Eric Pierrejean and JEC Turkey Representative Ozan Eğriboz at our stand.

As part of international collaborations, we discussed forum and conference activities with Deniz Gümüş from the Paris Chamber of Commerce, while Prof. Dr. Burcu Saner Okan from Sabancı University also visited our stand and met with us.

In addition, we visited Levent Atmaca and Mustafa Koray Özatay from Aksa Karbon at their stand and had discussions about our sector.

Our contacts and member visits at JEC World will continue on the third day of the fair.

At the beginning of the day, we had a pleasant visit with Prof. Dr. Roberto Frassine and Raphaël Pleynet from EuCIA. Following this, we met with Eralp Erdem, Büşra Erdem, and İbrahim Ünlüsoy from Turkuaz Polyester; Kemal Darcan and his team from Akpa Kimya; and Özgür Sönmez and Özlem Ural from Literatür Kimya, discussing innovations and collaboration opportunities in the sector.

The President of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO), Mr. Şekip Avdagiç, and the İTO delegation visited our stand, and we also had a productive meeting with Halid Avdagiç from Avitaş Kompozit Plastik.

Throughout the day, we continued to meet with our sector stakeholders. We also met with the President of İKMİB, Mr. Adil Pelister, and officials from the Presidential Investment and Finance Office.

As part of our member booth visits, we met with Müge Arifoğlu Yenmez and Kordsa’s senior management team, Ömer Güven from CET Kompozit, Mustafa Koray Özatay and the Aksa Karbon team, and Okay Erdoğan and Birce Erdoğan Caymaz from Erco Boya at their respective booths.

Our association successfully held the JEC WORLD 2023 Composites Show & Conference in Paris with the participation of a total of 40 Turkish companies, including 26 companies and 14 independent participants, as part of the National Participation Organization within the framework of our cooperation with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) this year as in the previous years. Our country ranked 4th among 48 countries participating in the exhibition.

Within the framework of the National Participation Organization, Turkish companies had the opportunity to host their visitors and promote their products in wider exhibition areas that are adjacent to each other. The increasing participation of Turkish companies in the exhibition, which is held within the excellent organization of ITO, has been a significant indicator of the fact that Turkish composites and Turkish composites companies have gradually consolidated their position in the global market.

Turkish Composites Industry has had the opportunity to once again demonstrate its position at the global level through its representatives participating in the Exhibition. Another indicator of this achievement is the great interest shown in our magazine and promotional brochures at the Exhibition, where “COMPOSITES TURKEY” Industrial Magazine, the major periodical of the Turkish Composites Industry, is given away.
