The largest single application of Bisphenol A is as a co-monomer in the production of polycarbonates and can be found in a variety of products we use in our daily life. But it is also suspected to have detrimental health effects on humans by influencing hormonic pathways while also negatively impacting our environment. Replacing Bisphenol A with plant-based alternatives could maintain the efficiency of polymer supply chains while eliminating the negative impacts on health and environment.
