So here we are. The last PES issue of 2020 – a year like no other. To use the exact words my surgeon uttered when he discovered a tumour in my bladder in 2015: “I bet you weren’t expecting that?”
Well no actually I wasn’t. Any more than I was expecting a pandemic to engulf the planet in a deadly embrace. The cost to the human race has been significant. The cost to global economies even more. Still there’s always Brexit to look forward to!
But I’m a firm believer in the ‘every cloud’s got a silver lining’ philosophy – although finding one at the moment isn’t easy. To use a computer analogy, we’re frantically pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete or the reset button, but things just won’t quite reboot…
