İngiltere Büyükelçiliği, COVID-19 ile mücadele kapsamında; İhtiyaç duyulan tıbbi malzeme ve ekipmanlar için tüm dünyada tedarikçi aradıklarını, şu an T.C. Sağlık Bakanlığı’nın bu ekipman ve malzemenin ihracını sınırladığını ve bunu anlayış ile karşıladıklarını, bir süre sonra bu kısıtın  kalkması halinde kendilerine tedarikçi olabilecek sektör oyuncularını belirleyip çalışmak istediklerini  belirterek  taleplerinin içeriklerini EK olarak iletmişlerdir.

Dear Turkish Industry Representatives,

While everyone, everywhere is mobilising to tackle the spread of Covid-19 all around the world, we as UK Department for International Trade in Turkey is supporting the effort to respond to COVID-19. In particular, our work on international procurement of medical supplies puts us front and centre of the Government’s main effort. Our global network is working to identify sourcing opportunities from all parts of the world. As in many countries the major items needed are ventilators, personal protective equipments (gloves, masks and gowns etc), and medicines.

In order to secure the national supplies, the Turkish Health Ministry has very recently imposed restrictions on the export of critical medical equipment including the respiratory masks, surgical gowns, alcohol hand sanitisers of all types, and eye protection equipment. While we completely understand and respect these decisions, we still believe that it would be useful to notify Turkish industry about the specifications of the medical equipment needed in the UK and to identify the suppliers who has the relevant capabilities for future reference once restrictions lifted for commercial procurement or to be used to inform authorities for a possibility of government to government procurement aiming to support the potential cooperation between UK and Turkey.

As more and more defence and aerospace companies are mobilising their sources to meet the increasing demands of medical sector and have a substantial manufacturing capacity and engineering know how, we would like to include defence industry network to this effort.
