THE LARGEST AQUARIUM IN THE MIDDLE EAST OPENS IN ABU DHABI

Using advanced designing and project management skills and lots of creativity, Polin Aquariums is proud to complete the largest aquarium in the Middle East. Located in Al Qana, The National Aquarium is one of the 11 Anchors situated in Al Qana; which is set to be one of Abu Dhabi’s most unique and iconic destinations.

Home to more than 45,000 animals with 60 different exhibits, National Aquarium is the Middle East’s largest aquarium with its 10 zones standing over 5500 m2 floor area. The journey starts with UAE’s national treasures and it is telling the stories of pearl divers. Than guests move to the Red Sea Wreck and they’re experiencing the red seas biodiversity. Atlantic cave holds the secrets of the atlantic ocean and Sub zone follows Atlantic with it’s submarine theming and with it’s deep sea creatures. The Ring of Fire will venture the guests to a volcanic cave and following that, Ocean Magic will uncover the secrets of oceans. In Frozen Ocean, Puffins will accompany the guests and in the flooded forest the journey will continue from rivers to the seas.

Finally, Bu Tinah Island, the main feature of National Aquarium of Abu Dhabi, a tunnel with 55 meters length and 5000 m3 volume will welcome the guests with its greatness. With it’s 5 meters depth, it allows guests to experience to dive into the aquarium.

The aquarium journey is part of the classic admission but aquarium offers different types of admissions including a Dhow tour with glass bottom to see tunnel fish from above, glass bridge walk and behind the scenes visit to see aquarium professionals on their daily routine.

National Aquarium of Abu Dhabi’s The Wildlife Rescue program is a joint collaboration between the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi & The National Aquarium of Abu Dhabi.

The mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and release native wildlife in the Abu Dhabi Emirate and aquarium aims to ensure a world of natural treasures for future generations. Aquarium professionals rescue all kinds of animals majorly sea turtles with their special design sea turtle rehabilitation tanks.
