ABOUT EARTHQUAKE WEEK

As you know, our country is located on one of the world's most active earthquake zones (the North Anatolian Fault line).
Therefore, strengthening buildings against earthquakes is of particular importance to us. Composite materials offer significant solutions in this regard as well.
On the occasion of Earthquake Week (March 1-7), we wanted to share with you a video of an earthquake simulation conducted jointly by DowAksa, a member of our association, and Istanbul Technical University in Yalova, using carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) technology on full-scale buildings.
The test, conducted to simulate seismic forces on two separate three-story structures, is the first study of its kind in the world on this scale using this method.
