STA, Sönmez Textiles Advanced, is the first establishment of Sönmez Holding, one of the leading companies in the Turkish textile sector since 1970, in the composite sector. STA facilities, with a current capacity of 5,000 tons/year, produce fabrics for the composite industry using glass, carbon, and aramid fibers.
STA's product range consists of three groups: Multiaxial, RTM, and Peel-Ply fabrics. The Multiaxial group includes UD, Biaxial, Triaxial, and Quadriaxial fabrics processed without crimping, produced in widths ranging from 250 mm to 2,540 mm and gram weights from 150 g/m² to 4,000 g/m². Fabrics under the ST-CORE brand are produced for RTM and L-RTM molding methods. Thanks to its specially developed stitching system, STA can achieve a Class A surface in Gel-Coat applied composites using ST-CORE fabric. Furthermore, STA facilities produce Peel-Ply fabrics suitable for standard, high-temperature, and high-pressure molding methods. STA supplies its ISO 9001, Turkish Lloyd, and RINA certified products to domestic and international automotive, construction, marine, GRP pipe, wind energy, defense industry, and aerospace sectors.
