EU GREEN DEAL HARMONIZATION PROCESS INITIATED

The European Green Deal, announced by the European Union in line with its goal of becoming a carbon-neutral continent by 2050, will affect energy-intensive sectors as well as including measures for resource-intensive sectors such as textiles, plastics, chemicals and construction materials, as well as white goods and automotive.
In this context, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Trade on Thursday, March 12, 2020, chaired by Deputy Minister Gonca Işık YILMAZ BATUR, with representatives of resource-intensive sectors. Our association, representing the composites sector, participated in the meeting, where topics such as recycling, the future of single-use packaging in the EU, the potential impacts of border carbon taxes on sectors, and ecological and digital transformation efforts to transform industrial ecosystems were discussed.
