Dear Member of the Composite Industry;
Organized for the 4th time in the Turkish Composite Sector by the Composite Manufacturers Association TURK COMPOSITE 2019 COMPOSITE SUMMIT It was successfully held at the Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar Congress and Exhibition Center on October 10-11-12, 2019.
The Composite Summit, which opened its doors to visitors with an opening ceremony at 10:00 AM on October 10, 2019, was inaugurated by Mr. Şekib Avdagiç, President of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Chemical Materials and Products Exporters Association; Mr. Ömer Karadeniz, President of the Plastics Manufacturers Federation; Mr. Selçuk Gülsün, President of the Plastics Manufacturers Association; and Mr. İlhami Keleş, General Secretary of SAHA Istanbul Defense and Aerospace Cluster, along with numerous other participants.
At the event, 102 companies and organizations from 7 different countries, including Turkey, shared the latest technological products and developments in the composite sector with event visitors in 102 Product Exhibition Areas. The event was visited by a total of 4,567 people over 3 days; 371 from 34 different foreign countries and 4,196 from Turkey.
The seminar section of the event included 15 important technical presentations and 13 commercial presentations over 3 days, as well as 2 thematic panels on the Use of Composites in the Renewable Energy Sector and the Use of Composites in the Defense and Aerospace Sector. In addition, as part of the Composite Career Days, sponsored and opened by Kariyer.net, 11 career day presentations were given by Dowaksa, Dyo, Ece Boya, Ege Kimya, Kordsa, Metyx, Polin, Superlit, Şişecam Elyaf and Yücel Grup companies. Furthermore, on October 11, 2019, Mr. Ahmet Poçuklu, Mr. Erdem Yücel and Mr. Mehmet Hakan Kuş shared their experiences with industry professionals in a "Composite Experiences" program moderated by our Association's General Secretary, Mr. İsmail Hakkı Hacıalioğlu. The presentations that were permitted to be published will be available on our Association's YouTube page.
This year, our member companies Omnis Kompozit, Yücel Grup, and Tila Kompozit demonstrated various composite production methods in two composite demo tents set up at the entrance of the exhibition area.
In the Composite Products World section, products such as Composite Sports Car, Composite Caravan, Composite Artistic Products, King Cobra Water Slide Simulator, Splash Bucket (playground developed for individuals with special educational needs), 4 m diameter GRP Pipe, Composite Tents, Composite Cello, Composite Benches, Composite Catamaran Boat Hull, Göbekli Tepe Sculptures, Composite 3-Seater Sofa, CAB MASK Part (Dudullu metro train car part), Composite Field Electrical Distribution Panel, Composite Wing Cross-Section, Ballistic Protective Helmet and Aircraft Seat Back were exhibited for 3 days.
This year, for the first time, certificates from the Tema Foundation were presented to Ms. Burcu Biçer Saner, a start-up participating in our event, for her work on the Robotic Arm-Winding Machine; to the Istanbul Technical University Rover Team from the University Composites Clubs for their work on the Mars Exploration Vehicle; and to Mr. Ahmet Poçuklu, Mr. Erdem Yücel, and Mr. Mehmet Hakan Kuş for sharing their industry experience with the participants. The certificates were presented during a ceremony held at the Gala Cocktail on the evening of the second day of the event, attended by nearly 200 industry professionals.
The event, held for the fourth time in the Composite Industry, was well-received by our stakeholders, including participants, visitors, and guests, and this appreciation was expressed on various occasions during and after the event.
As the Composite Manufacturers Association, we are delighted to announce that our efforts to transform the sector into an international brand, which we have been pursuing with unwavering dedication, will intensify even further.
