About the European Green Deal

In a letter sent to our Ministry from the Ministry of Trade, it is stated that the European Union aims to complete the review process of existing requirements, primarily the Packaging and Packaging Waste Control Regulation No. 94/62/EC, regarding measures to prevent packaging waste, within the scope of the European Green Deal (EGD) by the second quarter of 2021.
Furthermore, the roadmap document published within this scope states that studies will be conducted on developing packaging designs to support recycling, increasing the use of recycled content in packaging, regulating excessive packaging use, and reducing packaging waste, and that relevant legislation will be reviewed accordingly. It is stated that the consultation process regarding the published roadmap was initiated on June 11, 2020, and that it is possible to submit comments on the document until August 6, 2020.
