ARBIS Researcher Digital Identity Information

At TÜBİTAK, we are constantly updating our application evaluation processes to make them more effective, utilizing current information and data technologies. As part of these efforts (primarily for implementation in ARDEB programs), we have begun using keywords from your publications and the subject categories of the journals in which you publish, in addition to the data you have entered into ARBİS, when selecting evaluators (panelists, external consultants, reviewers, observers, juries, etc.).
Researcher identification numbers, used to identify and uniquely distinguish researchers due to issues such as name similarities, surname changes, spelling variations for those with multiple names, names containing Turkish characters, and institutional changes, have gained importance in recent years. In our country, the use of researcher identification numbers is becoming widespread thanks to the initiatives of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, and our universities. In this context, an update was carried out last year to allow the addition of your “Web of Science ResearcherID” information, for which we have data access under the protocol, to ARBİS, along with ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID). You can enter this information, along with your “Scopus Author ID” and “Google Scholar” link, in the “Researcher Digital Identity Information” section of ARBİS. Although a significant amount of ORCID data has been transferred to ARBİS as part of our collaboration with YÖK, the following points remain important:
- Researchers whose ORCID or ResearcherID information is not yet in ARBIS must enter this digital identity information into ARBIS in order to be able to participate in TÜBİTAK processes in line with their expertise.
- All researchers should synchronize their Web of Science Researcher ID and Scopus Author ID accounts by linking them to their ORCID accounts.
