JETCO Agreement Signed
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister of Trade Ruhsar Pekcan stated that relations between the two countries have continued excellently for 1.5 centuries. Minister Pekcan said, “It is fitting for both countries, in keeping with our historical relations, to further elevate our commercial and economic ties. We aim to accelerate and continue our commercial and economic relations between Turkey and Spain.”.
Pekcan pointed out that Spain should support investors in matters such as work and residence permits, and said, “We can increase our joint trade in the shared product lists. We can cooperate in the automotive main and sub-industry, ready-made clothing, iron and steel products, electronics, furniture, construction materials, packaging materials, textiles and cleaning products, vegetable oils, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, sugary and chocolate products, canned vegetables and fruits, dried fruits and fruit juices.”.
Pekcan emphasized that the JETCO mechanism thoroughly examines economic and trade relations between the countries, and that cooperation in areas such as mutual investments, contracting services, joint work in third countries, culture, tourism, agriculture, transportation, science and technology, and education was discussed.
