Coronavirus Pandemic Impact Analysis

The Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology has initiated the "Assessment Study of the Economic and Social Impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic" to comprehensively and thoroughly measure the socio-economic effects of the pandemic nationwide and rapidly develop preventive and recovery policies. Development Agencies are conducting research in their respective regions as part of this study. The East Marmara Development Agency (MARKA), in collaboration with the Kocaeli Chamber of Industry (KSO), Kocaeli Chamber of Commerce (KOTO), Gebze Chamber of Commerce (GebzeTO), Körfez Chamber of Commerce (KörfezTO), and the Kocaeli Branch of the Maritime Chamber of Commerce, is conducting a "Survey on the Impacts of the COVID-19 Process on Businesses in Kocaeli" to measure and analyze the effects on all aspects of production and service processes in businesses in Kocaeli. The survey results will serve as input for the work programs of the aforementioned institutions and will be reported to relevant central institutions, primarily the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology, to contribute to medium- and long-term policy making. The survey results (excluding firm-specific information) will be shared with respondents as aggregated statistical data.
