COVID-19 and Community Event, February 22-23.

The COVID-19 global pandemic is significantly impacting life in our country, as it is worldwide, and is causing changes that are likely to be permanent in the long term. Along with the measures taken to control the spread of the pandemic, international supply chains, supply and demand balances, producer-consumer behavior, business methods, working models, education and training methods, and daily life are already changing dramatically.

Vaccine and drug development, as well as medical device-focused research, are continuing at full speed in response to the pandemic. Alongside these technological approaches, it is believed that the social and humanities sciences will make significant contributions to addressing and resolving the problems triggered by the pandemic. To better control the global pandemic and prepare for its effects, it is necessary to reveal the social contexts of health emergencies.

From this perspective, TÜBİTAK launched a special call for proposals titled "COVID-19 and Society: Social, Human and Economic Impacts, Problems and Solutions of the Pandemic" to investigate the current and future effects of the pandemic from a social and humanities perspective, and to plan and manage processes and resources more effectively. Within the scope of this call, 97 projects were supported.

The findings, objectives achieved, and anticipated contributions of the projects supported under this call will be shared in full. On the TÜBİTAK YouTube Channel event that will be broadcast live February 22-23 It will be held on those dates.
