2. SASAD – TÜBİTAK SAGE (International Load Certification Testing Symposium)

By TÜBİTAK SAGE November 4-5, 2019 to be held at Ankara Bilkent Hotel on those dates “"International Symposium on Load Certification Testing"” The announcement regarding the event is below. It is also possible to set up a booth at the event, and the conditions can be found in the text.

————————–

As TÜBİTAK SAGE, we are pleased and proud to announce that we will be holding the third international symposium titled 'Load Certification Tests' in Ankara on November 4-5, 2019.

One of the consequences of the changes in the nature of warfare resulting from technological advancements in recent years has been the development of systems that help to complete wars with minimal losses and in the shortest possible time. On the other hand, the difficulties encountered in procuring these high-tech systems from abroad due to existing international agreements and commercial approaches necessitate the development of these systems domestically using national resources. This development process encompasses not only the design, production, and integration phases, but also system verification, i.e., certification tests.

In line with the increase in domestic ammunition, helicopter, and unmanned aircraft development projects, the number of personnel, test infrastructure/test areas, and machinery/equipment involved in relevant certification activities, primarily in the defense industry, has increased significantly. Furthermore, with the support of the private sector to the defense industry, numerous companies have begun to participate in certification activities as contractors or subcontractors. The absolute dependence on foreign countries in terms of infrastructure/equipment, which was prevalent before, is gradually decreasing.

As a result of this expansion, the need has arisen to organize a symposium bringing together the defense industry, private companies, and universities.

The first symposium, held on November 1-2, 2016, brought together experts, distinguished representatives, international guests, managers, and leading figures in the field of Load Certification Testing, creating an environment for sharing and discussing theoretical and practical knowledge related to Load Certification Testing.

The second symposium, held on November 1-2, 2017, specifically addressed the certification studies of national munitions for aircraft platforms (fighter jets, helicopters, unmanned aircraft, etc.), and generally presented the methods of load certification for all platforms.

We are proud to share that in 2016 and 2017, a total of 41 presentations were given by experts and institutions in the field of cargo certification (16 of which were given by international guests).

While this will not cover all the topics, the main areas of focus for the 2019 Symposium are as follows:

  • Flight Test Organization,
  • Flight Test Organization Training and Flight Test Organization Management,
  • Flight Test Engineering,
  • Test Piloting,
  • Aviation Technologies Test and Excellence Center,
  • Ground Vibration Test (GVT),
  • Flutter Tests,
  • Avionics Certification for Flying Platforms,
  • Big Data Usage,
  • Applications of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Certification Testing (current and future goals),
  • Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs),
  • Certification Methods for UAVs and UCAVs,
  • Lessons Learned,

We will be delighted and honored to see this symposium, which will be held with the participation of valuable test pilots from the Air Force Command and will address the problems experienced by those working in the sector and sector-specific issues in all aspects and with interdisciplinary methods, enriched by your valuable contributions.

We believe your participation will make the event more efficient.

Kind regards;

Gurcan OKUMUŞ

Institute Director
