Regarding Weekend Work Permission

It was announced that it will continue on weekends. curfew In this context, it is of great importance that our sub-sectors with strategic priority (primarily petrochemicals, plastic food packaging, and plastic medical/cleaning/hygiene products) continue their operations. Accordingly, our process of informing the public verbally and in writing, which we initiated on March 17, 2020, and which we also mentioned in our meetings with both our Minister of Industry and Technology and the President of TOBB, is still ongoing.

At this point in the process you requested to be exempted from the curfew Information regarding our sub-sectors should be promptly forwarded to the TOBB Plastics, Rubber and Composites Industry Council via the email address sektorler@tobb.org.tr.

Furthermore, the plastics industry and its related sub-industries operate on a principle based on heating and cooling. Considering the time it takes to reheat and bring the hives back to productivity after the machines are shut down, exemption from the curfew (In accordance with Article 3-k of the Curfew Circular) It is clear that this is necessary. Last weekend, some of our companies explained the issue to the governorates in this way and obtained permits, but the majority did not. Therefore, in order to avoid inconsistencies in implementation, the issue needs to be based on a scientific opinion.

In this context, PAGEV has also received an opinion letter from Yalova University, the only state university in Türkiye with a Polymer Engineering Department. If the necessary studies are not completed by the Ministry of Interior on a sub-sector basis by the end of the week, the attached document will be used. Official Opinion Letter from Yalova University Polymer Engineering Department By attaching the relevant documents and applying to the District Governor's Office and the Provincial Governor's Office in your area where your production is located (the final decision rests with the Provincial Governor's Office), you will contribute to your permit application process.
