Request for Feedback on the Draft Environmental Impact Assessment Regulation

In a letter sent by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization to the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), it is stated that the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulation first came into force on February 7, 1993, and has been in effect and continuously applied since that date. It is also stated that revisions have been made over time due to developing technology, EU Harmonization Laws, legal processes, new processes, and requirements.
According to the aforementioned document, the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulation was reviewed due to the conditions in our country, existing best practices worldwide, and requirements arising in practice. An EIA Workshop was organized with the participation of relevant institutions/organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations, and a working group including academics conducted the "Development of the EIA Regulation Project." As a result of this project, the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization prepared a draft EIA Regulation.
The draft Environmental Impact Assessment Regulation and the feedback form are attached. Any opinions and suggestions you may have regarding the aforementioned draft should be included in the feedback form and submitted to Mr. Mert Kuleoğlu of TOBB no later than the end of business hours on October 21, 2020.mert.kuleoglu@tobb.org.trPlease send it to the address provided.
